When a person gets married it is one of the biggest decisions that they make in the course of their lives. Most marriages have ups and downs. Some are worse than others and they require help. Here are a few tips on how to save a marriage.

Talking things out with your partner is a huge step that needs to be taken at some point in time. Whether trust has been broken or not talking about things with your spouse is a necessity if you really want a chance at saving the marriage. Without communication the troubles will not go away and will more than likely worsen over time.

Make sure that when your spouse talks to you that you pay attention to them and what they are saying. This is something that can mean more than anything to them even though you will not see it. Try to recall the way you communicated with one another when the relationship began as it was one of the things that got the two of you together.

List making is a great way to help solve problems. Put the good things on one side of a piece of paper and the negative ones on the other side. Make sure that you are totally honest with yourself when doing this. Once done the list, compare the two sides. See which things that you can correct on your own without your spouse. Black and white can make things seem a lot clearer to many people. Keep in mind that the marital problems are not all one person’s fault. It takes two.

Make an honest effort to change things that you found on the list that you have the control to fix on your own. Maybe an attitude change is in order or something of that nature. There are sure to be a few things that you can work on by yourself. Then you can talk more to your spouse and see what needs to be done with the other issues within the marriage.

Above all remember that we are all human and need love and support to thrive. The ball is in your court now and it is totally up to you whether you are willing to make the changes that may be necessary on your side. Put forth the effort to make some changes and see what the benefits are. You may be in for a pleasant surprise. If you really want to save the marriage it is within your grasp.

After going through a fairly long trial period where I was trying to find out what I could use to either stop my hair loss or find some way to cover it up, I have discovered a lot of products that work well, and a lot that do not work well. I realize that a lot of people are having a Rogain vs Organin debate, and would like some advice to help them make the final decision. I have used both, so in order to help you decide which one is right for you, I have provided the information I know about it so you can decide for yourself.

What is Rogain and Does Rogain Work? Rogain is a topical solution that has been available for use for quite a long time. Its main active ingredient is called Minoxidil. This “secret ingredient” is designed to help increase blood flow in your scalp and therefore increase hair growth.

For most people who use Rogain, they find that their hair falls out a lot faster for the first couple of weeks, because the hair follicles are preparing to grow newer, healthier hair. After about 3 months, most people begin to see an increase in the amount of new hair they have growing in, as well as a decrease in the amount of hair that they have falling out. about 85% of all customers see some hair regrowth after at least a 6 month period. So, it does work. It usually costs about $35-$40 for a one month supply of Rogain.

Because Rogain has been on the market for quite a while, they lost their exclusive patent and so other companies have been able to begin to market products with Minoxidil as viable solutions for treating hair loss. I personally use Provillus, and if you are interested in reading more about it, I have written another article about it that you can find on IUsedToBeBald.com.

What Is Organin and What Does It Do? Organin is not at all designed to increase hair growth or decrease hair loss, as you probably already know. It’s essentially there just to cover up bald spots on your head so that they are less noticable. It is made up of natural keratin fibers look more like real hair than just a simple spray coloring bottle would. In that sense, it’s a lot better than many products intended to cover up bald spots that are more like spray paint than actual hair.

Organin comes in a number of colors, so for most people, it’s not too hard to get a color that matches your real hair color, and it won’t be incredibly noticable to people who see your hair up close. However, it’s never going to match your hair perfectly, so sometimes it is quite noticeable to other people. In my opinion, the last thing you need when you are trying to cover up your bald spots is something to draw attention to it. Because it’s not permanently attached, it can also flake off on occasion and get on your clothes, which can also be a major drawback.

I have personally use Organin and have found it to be potentially good on SOME occasions, such as for when I have to take family pictures or pictures or something along those lines. But, I personally don’t expect I will ever have reason to use it again now that I have found a product that effectively stops hair loss so I don’t even have to worry about covering up bald spots.

Rogaine vs. Organin - Which One Wins? It’s hard to say which product is legitimately better, because they do not do the same thing. Like I said, if you want to look good for family pictures, you may want to get some organin and see how well you can make it work. But, if you are looking for a product that is FDA approved to grow hair so you won’t even have to use Organin ever again, you should go for Rogaine or any other product that contains Minoxidil instead.

While this site focuses primarily on elite college admissions, I’ve occasionally posted on broader topics, including how to choose the right college. These were pretty well received judging by the emails I received, so I’ve decided to continue writing more about the college life.

A topic of huge importance to incoming freshman is how to select the right major/degree. It has many future implications that most high school students simply don’t know.

When you look at it this way, it is easy to see that choosing the wrong major can have some serious consequences.

First of all, if you choose the wrong major, it will limit your college career. Your choice of major restricts your choice of classes. Once you have finished college, your choice of major can limit your career choice. If you have chosen unwisely, you may find yourself an English major searching for a career in finance. This is not a good combination.

Most of all, IT CAN BE BORING! You may not like the classes, the professors, the studentsand then spend the next 10 years of your life regretting not choosing that really cool-sounding major back in freshman year.

Now on to picking the right major. Here’s what you should seriously think about.

For added insight, talk the following points over with your parents. You may be surprised at the amount of wisdom and expertise they can bring to the discussion.

1. Think about what kind of JOB you want to have

If you are fascinated with business, be sure to choose a social sciences major like economics. If you are interested in engineering, look into things like computer sciences.

If you want a career in engineeringchoose an engineering major (duh)

If you want a career in journalism and writingchoose a liberal arts major

You may be wondering why I am pointing out the apparently obvious, but you would be surprised to know how many students choose their major without thinking of these things. Just keep in mind that you choice of major determines the course of your life. It will not just affect your college experience, it will affect your life experience, too.

What job would make you happy? What career would fulfill you? What do you love to do now, that can be translated into a paying job?

The second thing you must keep in mind is your personality.

A person who has an outgoing and sociable personality may be quite unhappy pursuing a degree in computer science.

Are you artsy/creative? Try creating your own major, or try an interdisciplinary major

Included in your personality is your work style. An analytical, numbers oriented person should choose an according major. One who enjoys creative writing will be happiest with a major in one of the humanities.

Your major should support your strong points. Don’t save your talents for your hobby and struggle at your job! If you major in something you dislike, you are sure to be unhappy.

#3. Make a list of goals that you want to achieve during your college years.

Map out your goals and create a set of objectives to achieve them. This will help you move surely through your college career. Goal setting will get you through from start to finish.

Be sure your goals are inclusive of your interests. If, for example, you want to study abroad, be sure to include that in your goals and in your choice of major. Don’t choose a major that will not facilitate this wish.

So, once again, define your goals. There are a number of things that you will want to accomplish while you are in college. Once you have a clear picture of your direction, choose a major that will support it. Your major should provide you with the tools you need to attain your dreams.
